The Bosque River flood May 6, 2024

I t's been quite a 24 hours here. The Bosque River borders this ranch on the west. When it overflowed its banks yesterday, it crested at 35.89 feet. Flood stage is 23 feet. My houses, barns, shops, and outbuildings are thankfully on higher ground. Our pecan bottoms, lower pastures and cultivated fields were totally flooded; many fences badly damaged near the river, full of debris or washed away…
